Everybody's Working for the Weekend

Original MTV VJs Nina Blackwood, Mark Goodman & Alan Hunter to host 80 hour marathon of '80s movies, music, trivia & more... Interviews with Ralph Macchio, Corey Haim, astronaut Sally K. Ride and more!

The '80s awesomely take over Encore with the first of a totally tubular annual event featuring 80 hours of all things '80s over the Labor Day weekend. Viewers will be able to see the young Julia Roberts, Demi Moore, Rob Lowe, John Cusack, Val Kilmer, Ally Sheedy, Molly Ringwald, Phoebe Cates, Kevin Bacon and many others. In addition to your favorite stars, we've got 43 '80s movies (including Weird Science, The Karate Kid, Mr. Mom ... ), plus a look at classic '80s pop culture, from trivia, news and movie trailers, to music videos. Plus interviews with Ralph Macchio, Corey Haim, Astronaut Sally K. Ride and others.

And it's all hosted by original VJs Nina Blackwood, Mark Goodman and Alan Hunter. "The '80s was the decade that (good or bad) changed pop culture through movies, music, fashion and just about everything else," says Michael Ruggiero, vice president of programming and scheduling. "Encore celebrates that wild and oftentimes strange era, with a collection of movies and much more, hosted by the original VJs who were there from the start."
