Cool looking book! Reminds me of those old "Ripley's Believe it or Not" compliations. Do you have any of those?

Very useful, even 41 years later

One of the things that I miss the most is the old asbestos burner cover that you could put over the flames and it would disperse the heat evenly. I mean, hell, everything is bad for you one way or the other...bring back my burner cover!

Cheryl-
Thanks! When I saw this at a book sale a few years ago, I knew I had to get it. It has such great illustrations inside and tons of interesting (and somewhat outdated) info.

No, I don't have any of those Ripley books that you're talking about, but I do know what they look like. They are cool!

Nathan-
Thanks! I'm glad you think so! I always enjoy an odd fact here and there. :)

Mariana-
That's swell! I swear by my asbestos underwear and scarves!

Princess Wild Cow-
I think I know what you are talking about, or rather I think I've seen one before but I can't put my finger on where. And you are so right, what isn't bad for you anymore? First it's artificial sweeteners, then eggs, then coffee, then tuna, then chocolate. They they flip flop later and tell you "oops, we were wrong, they are good for you." Whatever.
